When you read JJRC, that means quality. There is no difference when we talk about JJRC H8D. JJRC H8D is a drone made from the high quality material. H8D is packed with amazing features as well as safety piloting measures. But if you are looking for cheaper version of JJRC drone, maybe you should take a look at JJRC H26D.
We already published JJRC H8D in an article about best drones under 200 dollars. But in this review, we will focus on more details about H8D features and specifications.

JJRC H8D Specifications and Features
H8D is a middle size drone. It is not small, nor it is too big. The drone has 1163 grams which is enough, and probably the main reason for such a heaviness on middle size drone is built in camera.
The camera is built in, meaning you can’t take it down nor replace it with the better camera. The camera is not bad; it has a 720P maximum resolution which will give a decent picture. It only has 2MP still camera resolution, and that is not a thing to be proud of.
The battery of this drone is the average power of 500mAh. But still, even with a decent power battery maximum flight time for JJRC H8D is only 8 minutes. And again main reason for this is the camera.
I had talked about the camera in the negative tone when we were looking at maximum flight time and drone weight, but because of this built-in camera, this drone will provide you first person view which will bring your drone piloting on the whole new level. You no longer need to look at the drone on the sky, but instead, you can look at what drone see and fly it that way. This way of flying will require from you to build some additional drone piloting skills, but there is only one way to do it, and that is practice. And there is no better drone than JJRC H8D to do this piloting practice. JJRC H8D is heavy enough, just like professional drones, it is affordable and durable. Even if you manage to crash it, it will probably stay undamaged, and even if it gets destroyed, you did not burn a lot of money.
Operating range for H8D is only 300 meters, but that is enough to test all the flying moves.
The whole drone is made in standard design. It is quadcopter, meaning it has four rotors like most of the drones on the market. Colors and fancy marks on the drone are designed well. Drone looks attractive even with propellers protection installed. The remote controller is made with quality material and controls are simple to use. The LCD screen is above the joysticks, and that should make flying even easier because you can see the joysticks and the drone live feed video.
- Altitude Hold Mode
- Hovering Mode
- Headless Mode
- Return Home Key
There are not much-advanced flight features on this drone, but that is not a problem because this drone primary purpose is recreational flying. People get this drone to learn how to fly a drone. After that, they start using FPV and learn how to fly it by looking on the LCD screen that is on the remote controller. When they learn all the tricks and moves, they decide to use a camera to shoot videos. Once they master that they are ready to buy a real drone with better, expensive camera.
JJRC H8D is made for beginners and pilots that wish to learn advanced flying techniques. There are not much fancy flying features for beginners like automatic landing or collision avoidance sensors. But still because of the simple remote controller and stability in the air H8D is an excellent new pilot choice. Excellent balance is the result of the heaviness that comes with H8D. Durability and strong material used in the manufacturing of the H8D guarantees that you will not destroy this drone easy. Affordable or not, it is up to you to decide. But for this money, you get a drone with first person view, with built-in camera, decent operating range and an average flight time. What else do you need from a drone for so little money?
